This blog is part of our blog series: application guide: the process for finding a job abroad ! Have you read them all? #1 Send application, create a cv #2 Getting to know you #3 Your job interview with the employer #4 You got the job! Want to know how to prepare for the interview before the 5 tips? Check this blog . #1 Take your time Whether it's a first phone call with our recruiters or a video call with your future employer: Take your time for these appointments. Since you know in advance when your interview will be, you can plan and ensure that you have enough time. #2 Know your motivation Ask yourself the following questions and know how to answer them in English: Why do you want to work abroad? How long do you want to live and work abroad? Why did you apply for this job? How are your school and work experiences relevant to your new job? When you can answer this question you show you are prepared well and have what it takes for the job. For all the questions, check the blog about how to prepare for the interview. #3 Technical equipment and a quiet environment For both phone and video calls, it is very important that you are in a quiet room with a good internet connection. When you are on the move, driving or walking, it’s not the best time to do the interview. We hear you thinking “I could have thought of that myself” , but it would not be the first time. 💡 Tip: Inform your parents, flatmates or partner about your job interview so that no one bursts into the room and distracts you. Especially for video calls, you need a stable internet connection, a working camera, and a microphone so everyone can see and understand you well. In addition, you should make sure that you keep your background as neutral as possible. Good lighting is also nice to have! These little things can make a lot of difference, and the recruiters will immediately notice that you are taking your interview seriously. 💡 Tip: If you are nervous and not very familiar with different online platforms, you can make a test call with a friend or family member. #4 Your appearance Even though you are being interviewed from your home, it is still a professional appointment. Dress appropriately, as you would, for a face-to-face interview. It is also important to speak clearly so that the person you are talking to can understand you. #5 Ask questions Often, recruiters will ask you at the end of the interview if you have any questions for them. This is your chance to show them that you have read about the vacancy and thought about it. Questions related to the job description will make a good impression and convince the recruiter that you are the right person for the job! If you follow these tips, you can't go wrong with your application process. We look forward to receiving your application and supporting you throughout the process.
