Take your time!

Whether it's a first phone call with our recruiters or a video call with your future employer: Take your time for these appointments. Since you know in advance when your interview will be, you can plan and ensure that you have enough time.

Know your motivation

For the job interview, you need to be well-prepared. Ask yourself the following questions:

  • Why exactly do you want to work abroad?
  • How long do you want to live and work abroad?
  • Why did you apply for this job?
  • How are your school and work experiences relevant to your new job?

It is essential for employers that you are well prepared and have read the vacancy carefully. We also recommend informing you about the country and company you are applying for.

Technical equipment and a quiet environment

For both phone and video calls, it is very important that you conduct them in a quiet environment. Make sure you have a quiet room with a good internet connection. Never take phone calls, such as the first get-to-know-you call, when you are on the move (in the car, on a walk). This looks highly unprofessional!

Tip: Inform your parents, flatmates or partner about your job interview so that no one bursts into the room and distracts you.

Especially for video calls, you need a stable internet connection, a working camera, and a microphone so that the recruiters can see and understand you well. In addition, you should make sure that you keep your background as neutral as possible. Good lighting is also an important factor! These little things can make a lot of difference, and the recruiters will immediately notice that you are taking your interview seriously.

Tip: If you are nervous and not very familiar with different online platforms, you can make a test call with a friend or family member.

Your appearance

Even though you are being interviewed from your home, it is still a professional appointment. Dress appropriately, as you would, for a face-to-face interview. It is also important to speak clear so that the person you are talking to can understand you.

Ask questions

Often, recruiters will ask you at the end of the interview if you have any questions for them. This is your chance to show them that you have read about the vacancy and thought about it. Questions related to the job description will make a good impression and convince the recruiter that you are the right person for the job!

If you follow these tips, you can't go wrong with your application process. We look forward to receiving your application and supporting you throughout the process.
