On the last Wednesday of August, one of the unique festivals in the world is celebrated: La Tomatina. The name already gives away what this event is about. It is a tomato fight that takes place in the town of Buñol. Next to that, October 12th is also an important date since it is a national holiday in Spain. This day is called Día de la Hispanidad, in honour of Christopher Columbus, who discovered America in 1492.
