What do I need to arrange myself, and what depends on the country?
Some parts of moving abroad aren't up to your employer at all, they're set by the country you're moving to. Every country has its own tax number and social security registration, and you'll need both no matter which job you take.
In Portugal 🇵🇹, that means a NIF (tax number) and a NISS (social security number). In Greece 🇬🇷, it's an AFM and an AMKA. In Spain 🇪🇸, you'll need a NIE number followed by a Spanish social security number. And in Bulgaria 🇧🇬, it's called a Unified Civil Number, or UCN.
