What is it like to work in customer service?
As a Customer Service Agent, you help customers with their questions by phone, email or chat. You could be working for well-known brands such as Netflix or Mercedes-Benz, handling their customer service. Think of a warning light on the dashboard of their car, a login problem or a confusing invoice. With your help, the customer can get on with their day, and you often end a conversation with someone who is glad it’s sorted out. Even when a customer is a bit frustrated, your calm and friendly approach makes the difference.
Customer service suits you if solving a problem makes your day and patience is one of your strengths. Read more about why customer service is a great first job abroad.
What does a day in sales look like?
As a Sales Agent, you help customers choose: a new subscription, an upgrade or a product that suits them better. Does sales make you think of cold calling? Often, it’s nothing like that. Many of the customers you speak to have contacted the company themselves. Together you look at options to upgrade their subscription, sometimes even with a discount. In other roles, you approach businesses and schedule appointments for account managers. You work with targets, and at many employers you can earn bonuses on top of your fixed salary when you perform well.
You get training and coaching, and learn step by step how to hold a strong sales conversation and spot opportunities. You take those commercial skills with you for the rest of your career. Sales suits you if targets give you energy and you enjoy advising customers on services that match their needs.

What does a Content Moderator actually do?
As a Content Moderator, you review posts, photos and videos on social media and other online platforms. You check whether they meet the platform's guidelines and decide what stays online and what gets removed. That way, you help create a safer online environment for millions of users. You mostly work independently and without live customer contact, usually from the office and in rotating shifts. Sometimes that includes evenings, nights or weekends.
You may come across disturbing images that are not suitable for everyone. This is part of the job, and you need to be able to deal with it well. You’re also trained for this, and your future employer can tell you more about it.
